This is my video on loans. I might need to buy a home soon. I also  thought it would be an intresting topic to learn since i have like no knowledge of it.

The only thing i would change about this video is that he goes off topic and he uses some large financially insufficient words.

mine-craft architect project.

This is the "man-Cave" me and tim made for the great Gary Burnette a.k.a the coolest guy ever. It features  a sweet 60 inch sony lcd TV and some other dope items.

Egg drop

Our egg did  not crack but we didn't get any achievements.  Our egg was wrapped in tin foil and we put it in a cup and attached a parachute to the cup. Since our wegg didnt crack our parachute allowed the egg to safely float down to the concrete.

ted

1) What is the TED organization about?
The TED organization is made to show videos that are enteirtaining to inspirie and educate people.
2) What is the purpose of their website and how does the functionality of their site support that?
The purpose is to educate and inspire people, they have videos form well known and respected speakers that best deliever their point in an entertaining and inspiring way.
3) As Engineers and Problem Solvers, which topic areas (the choices from the "Show talks related to:" section on the sidebar) are of most interest to us? Justify your answer.
The three topics that most intrest me our inspiring, funny, and design. The design one is kinda the basis of engineering desisgning and creating products, inspiring becasue that inspires new creative ideas an important trait of being an egineer, and funny becasue its entertaining and helps with creativity and thinking outside of the box.
4) Based on your previous answer, what are 3 talks (videos) on the site that appear like they would be of most interest to you as an Engineer/Problem Solver? Justify your choices.
http://www.ted.com/talks/john_wooden_on_the_difference_between_winning_and_success.html John wooden is a great inspritational man whos ideas and principles help you devolpe a great work ethic and to become more creative.
http://www.ted.com/talks/klaus_stadlmann_the_world_s_smallest_3d_printer.html This video in the catogroy of design is just the basis of what engineers try to do improve products.
http://www.ted.com/talks/thomas_thwaites_how_i_built_a_toaster_from_scratch.html this video like the last shows how to improe a product.
5) Each student will watch a unique video (clear your choice with me... first come, first served!). Watch the video. Embed the video in your blog post and create a bulletized outline of the key issues presented in the talk. http://www.ted.com/talks/thomas_thwaites_how_i_built_a_toaster_from_scratch.html
During the video John Wooden talks about how people can gain sucess. He talks about how people need to self motivate themselves.

6) How could you get involved in the field/technology/issue you chose to hear about? What experience/skills/training/education would you need to learn to get involved with this field?
Well John Wooden was a basketball coach. I would have to play basketball and work for some college coaches to get his job. I would need leadership skills and be able to presuade people for recurting.

Airplane

1) Provide a breif description of the activity. Who did you work with? What did you build? What challenges did you overcome to succesfully craft your aircraft? I workeed with preston and max, we made a airplane out of balsa wood. We encounterd the challange of glue not working, peices falling apart and knife no cutting to weel.

2) Post a photo of your glider under construction.

3) Post a photo of your finished design.

4) Describe how you tested your aircraft and tuned its flight characteristics.
To test are aircraft we threw it and what weaknesses we obseverd we fixed.
5) Describe how well your aircraft flew in our competition. Did you win any events (furthest distance, longest time aloft)? Were you competative in our best decorated flier competition? We lost every contest but the longest distance are  plane went a good distance.

6) Pick three steps from the PLTW 12 step design process and describe how your team worked through these during the course of this experience.
1. We brainstormed ideas on how to improve the plane.
2. We tested our plane and evaluated its preformance
3. After we tested and evaulated our plane we corrected problems found to increase the prefomance of our plane.

moneyball

1) What was the “Moneyball”approach that Billy Beane and Peter Brandt applied to the Oakland Athletics 2002 season? Was it an “art” or a “science”? What single statistic did they boil their value consideration down to? (In class research/discussion)
The moneyball technique is a science and the stat was on base precentages.
2) What is the equation used to calculate OBP? (In class research/discussion)
obp is (Hits + Walks + Hit by Pitch) / (At Bats + Walks + Hit by Pitch + Sacrifice Flies)

3) What is design? (In class research/discussion)
Design is just comming up with idea for how something should be.4) Describe 3 situations where movie characters (intentionally or not) applied a step from the PLTW 12 Step Design Process. Explain both the (a) situation as well as (b) how the step is relevant:
1 - Billy brainstorms players to bring in that fit the needed roles
2 -  Billy beane idenfities a problem in lack of money

3 -  Billy hires a guy that mathmaticlly can make a good team.

5) What is “Leadership”? List the three aspects of leadership that we come up with in class. (In class research/discussion)

1 -  leading a group like being the guy who keeps everyone on task.
2 -  leading a group by telling them what ideas to use.
3 -  seeing how a good leader can affect a group.

6) Describe 3 circumstances from the story where a character exercised effective leadership:
1 -  the coach led the team and told them what to do

2 -  Billy beane lead the exectutives to get a good time

3 - jason giambi led his team to victory

7) According to the movie, what was the A’s record at the start of their winning streak? 68 : 51

8) What does this ratio simplify to (roughly)? 1.3: 1

9) How long was the A’s record setting winning streak? 20 games won.

10) Given the A’s win/loss ratio at the start of the streak (listed two questions above), what are the odds of winning 20 games in a row? Run the numbers. (In class research/discussion)
The odds are .000013

11) Based on your calculation, do you think the A’s got lucky or was there something to the Moneyball approach? I think both, they didnt have a good fundmental team but the moneyball approach made them a betetr team.

12) Did Billy Beane strictly apply the “science” of Moneyball to his management approach? Was there an “art” to his efforts as well? Describe a circumstance where he broke from the Moneyball approach to make a positive change for the team.
I find it to be stricly sceince because its all science based

steel.
Smaller
why is scillicone easy to shrink?
scillicone is easy to shrink because it is a mterial not a machiene
Cleaner
what us the first completely synthetic material?
Plastic!
Smarter
What does the magnaetic fluid consist of?
The fluid consist of tiny iron particles suspened in oli with a magnetic field, causing the fluid to become thicker.
